NORTHERN COUNTIES
INTERNATIONAL SALON OF PHOTOGRAPHY
The Salon has been organised by the NCPF and its federated clubs for 34 years. For 27 years the Salon was open to Colour Slides only, and known as the "Northern Counties International Slide Exhibition".
In 2007, at the invitation of South Shields PS, we incorporated their Print salon into our Exhibition. Since then, Colour Slides had to be dropped in 2011 and Projected Digital Images (Electronic Images) have become firmly established.
This year's Salon will be known as the:-
"34th NORTHERN COUNTIES INTERNATIONAL SALON OF PHOTOGRAPHY 2013"

This year we are introducing TWO NEW SECTIONS to replace the old "General" PDI Section.
"Open Colour Traditional" and "Open Colour Creative".
Please ensure that you read the new definitions that govern entries to these sections.
The Salon awards FIAP, PSA, RPS, UPI and NCPF medals, and includes awards for specific subjects in most Sections. We also produce a full colour catalogue which has been granted 4 Star Rating by FIAP, which is sent free of charge to ALL entrants.
There are also awards in each section, known as the Northumbria Trophies for the best entries by members of NCPF clubs, who also enjoy discounted entry fees.
All Acceptances and Awards (except the Northumbria Trophies, as they are not available to all entrants) in the Northern Counties Salons count towards Distinctions granted by FIAP, and UPI and towards Star Ratings and Distinctions granted by PSA.
There will be two separate exhibitions, comprising acceptances to the Open Traditional, Open Creative, Nature and Photo-Travel Sections on a DVD in one, and the Monochrome and Colour Prints in the other, which will be shown at many venues across the North of England and Scotland.
