"PSA Club Website Competition"
It is with pleasure we can report that for the third successive year South Shields Photographic Society has gained an award in the judging of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) “PSA Club Website Contest” in the Small Group section for clubs with 74 members or less.
Each year the PSA holds a competition, for clubs who are members of the PSA, for the best website. This competition is divided into two groups; Group A is for those with more than 75 members and Group B for those with 74 or less members. Judging criteria is extensive; what is taken into consideration is design of the website, ease of navigation, content etc, etc together with whether or not the website is up to date.
The distinctions in the groups are first, second & third and a number of Honourable Mentions presented will be determined by the number of entrants in each group. First, second, and third place winners in each entry group receive an engraved award. Certificates are given to all honourable mentions. All winners receive a commemorative logo for their website homepages once the judging is complete and the winners posted.
In the 2012 season we entered this competition for the first time and came First. On our second entry in the 2013 season we came Third and this year we came in Third place again. From this year’s preliminary results we are the only club in Europe to have gained an award, so credit has to go to our Webmaster Malcolm Lovell who puts in a lot of hard work. He is to be congratulated for keeping our website up to date and a well as eye catching.
