"Report from the 4th NCPF Beamish Weekend"

This years’ NCPF Beamish Weekend coincided with the annual Georgian Fair, which was an added bonus. This was much appreciated by club members wishing to get some pictures for the Beamish Trophy Competition, which will be taking place on 28th October 2014, hosted by Winlaton CC. There were members from at least 10 clubs on site over the two days and hopefully had a good time and went away with both images and inspiration.

As usual our Exhibition proved to be extremely well attended, with about 700 visitors viewing the work. The Exhibition comprised of 150 prints from various club members throughout the NCPF region, as well as a selection of prints from the 2014 NCPF International Salon of Photography. Those who viewed the exhibition were impressed with both the quality and the variety of work shown. There were a lot of questions about techniques etc, and several took details of the NCPF with a view to looking at club membership.

This was a selling exhibition with 7 prints being purchased over the course of the weekend. The prints sold were of a variety of subjects varying from local views to natural history.

Our thanks go to Beamish for granting us the facilities they did, but also to those stalwarts who worked hard to make this event happen, including all the work in setting up the Exhibition. The relationship with Beamish is proving to be a valuable one to the NCPF and we hope to continue it into the future.
