"Gateshead win again, this time in the South Tyne Area Print Competition"
Having won this season's Area PDI Competition, last November, Gateshead CC completed the double by winning the Area Prints Inter-club Competition, which was hosted by Ryton & District CC on the 26th February 2013.
There was a large attendance for the event in which six clubs each submitted eight prints into the competition and the judge for the evening was Trevor Roxby, from Washington CC..
"Fallen from Grace" by Paul Toole of Whikham PC
In what was a close fought competition the wnners were Gateshead CC who were awarded 214 points for their entry. This meant that they had wone both South Tyne Area Inter-Club Compeitions this season. The similarities did not end there though because, in an almost morror image of the PDI competition, Whickham PC were again placed second, this time with 208 points and Hexham & District PS continued the effect by being placed third again with 207 points.
The full results of the competition were as follows:-
1st:- Gateshead CC (214 points)
2nd:- Whickham PC (208 Points)
3rd:- Hexham & District PS (207 points)
4th:- South Shields PS (205 points)
5th:- Ryton & District CC (203 Points)
6th:- Winlaton CC (196 points)
The winner of the Best Individual Print went to Paul Toole of Whickham PC for his photograph entitled "Fallen from Grace" (shown above).
