This will be the 5th year that the NCPF Beamish Trophy is to be competed for by members, and is based on the Beamish Weekend. The competition will be for Prints and PDI, with the images having been only exposed during the period of 31st August 2014 and 31st August 2015 at Beamish Museum.
The weekend of May 30-31 saw the annual exhibition of work by NCPF members as well as a selection of prints from the 35th Northern Counties Salon.
A total of 1001 people visited the exhibition over the course of the weekend with 4 prints sold: congratulations to the successful authors-it is always nice when somebody likes your work so much they are willing to put their hands in their pockets and buy it, even if the amounts concerned are not exactly life changing!
Congratulations to all those who enjoyed success in this years Annual Competition. And many thanks to all of our members who supported the competition by entering work, and of course the many people involved in the organisation and judging of the competition.
I’m pleased to announce that the report and results are now published on the site and can be found by clicking the below links:-
More images from the Competition will be appearing on the site soon

South Shields Photographic Society has triumphed once again in the small club section of Photographic Society of America’s annual competition for “Best Website”.
Having entered this competition fours years ago and won first place at the first attempt, and then subsequently third place in the second and third years. In this fourth year South Shields were successful once again in getting first place, a tremendous achievement given that this year they were the only club outside of America to get a placement in the competition.
Morpeth CC is to hold its Big Event, which is to take place 7.30pm Tuesday 10th November, and features renowned photographer Duncan McEwan. It promises to be a very memorable evening where Duncan will be presenting his new two part programme of stunning Scottish and World Landscape photographs

To commemorate the occasion of his diamond jubilee of membership of the Society and to celebrate his long service and give thanks and appreciation for all the hard work that Stan had done for them on their behalf the Society in secret had a suitably engraved piece of glass which was presented to Stan by the President Mr Phil Dunn at the Society’s Annual Presentation of Awards Evening held in the Catholic Club, South Shields.
