To commemorate the occasion of his diamond jubilee of membership of the Society and to celebrate his long service and give thanks and appreciation for all the hard work that Stan had done for them on their behalf the Society in secret had a suitably engraved piece of glass which was presented to Stan by the President Mr Phil Dunn at the Society’s Annual Presentation of Awards Evening held in the Catholic Club, South Shields.
Miles Langthorne, Club Chairman of Northallerton CC and Honorary Vice-President, was taken by complete surprise at Northallerton’s Annual Dinner and Presentation Evening, which took place on Friday 17/04/15 when his service to the club over more than four decades was recognised by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain granting him the APAGB award for service to photography.

This season’s Projected Digital Images Competition was hosted by Ponteland Photographic Society at Merton Hall on 23 March 2015. A total of seven clubs in the North Tyne area entered photographs; Cramlington, Gosforth, North Shields, Ponteland, Tynemouth, Wallsend and Whitley Bay. Our judge was David J Stout DPAGB, EFIAP, PSA from Ryton Camera Club who was kind enough to consider all fifty six of the entries during his holiday in Switzerland!
On Thursday 26th February 2015 the South Tyne Area Print Competition took place. The competition was hosted by Gateshead CC who did a great job. We saw a good turn out for the competition with each of the competing clubs represented. Jim Welch of Blyth PS judged the competition in his usual entertaining and insightful manner, resulting in a good nights entertainment featuring some impressive work.
Our congratulations go to John Webster ARPS, MPAGB, President of Northallerton CC on his impresive achievement.
John decided to enter the 2014/15 “Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year Competition” with the stunning shot (Shown below), taken during a photographic trip to Hungary last year.

Some members of the Travel Group committee and North Region are going to a photography evening at Durham Cathedral on Thursday the 6th of August.
These photography evenings do not happen very often, so we thought it might be of interest to other members, along with a day of photography in and around Durham on the Thursday or Friday.
To apply for tickets to photograph in the Cathedral go to http://durhamcathedral.co.uk/whatson/date-06-08-2015
