The Masters of Print exhibition opening ceremony took place at the R.K. Burt Gallery in Southwark on London’s South Bank on Monday December 4th .
It was the first Masters of Print exhibition to be organised by the PAGB, with the aim being to encourage members of clubs all over the country to submit their very best work in print form. Only 60 prints were accepted and there was a limit of only one acceptance per entrant. Roy Elwood (Whickham PC), Joe Grabham (Durham PS) and Andrew Nicoll (Whitley Bay PS) were the three NCPF photographers to have acceptances and all three attended the opening ceremony, which was introduced by Gordon Jenkins, President of the PAGB.
As well as medals and ribbons for the prints judged to be the very best, several sponsors, including Sony, Canon, Epson and a number of photographic paper companies, awarded prizes on the day. Roy and Andrew were among the winners here, with both being presented with boxes of high-quality printing paper.
The exhibition will run at the Burt Gallery until December 15th, with further venues being announced in due course. The closing date for the next Masters of Print will be next October – plenty of time for NCPF members to get printing!
