On Thursday 3rd December 2015, Part 1 of the Annual 4 Way Interclub Competition was hosted by Cramlington Camera Club at the Doxford Place Methodist Church in Cramlington. Each of the four competing clubs submitted eight projected digital images on any subject, which were judged by Northern Counties Photographic Federation judge Keith Robertson ARPS, AFIAP who is a member of Hexham & District Photographic Society.
Keith stated that the high standard of work from all four clubs had given him some difficult decisions and that he was pleased that out of the thirty two entries he had only seen one image previously. As the entries were projected, the judge offered his views on what the author had produced and what message the image gave to him. When necessary he also commented on small details and offered suggestions that in his opinion may have produced a better final shot. Each image was marked out of thirty and two images scored the maximum thirty marks, one from Cramlington and “Long Eared Owl “ by Elaine Illingworth for Morpeth. When the final scores for each club were announced the result was as follows –
Morpeth Camera Club………………..208 marks.
Gosforth Camera Club……………….207 marks.
Gateshead Camera Club…………….205 marks.
Cramlington Camera Club…………..195 marks.
This was Part One of a Two Part competition with Morpeth just out in front at the moment and the clubs meet again in February 2016 for the second leg, when the Colour and Monochrome Print section entries will be judged and the scores from both competitions are added together to find the overall champions.
